NIS2 Briefing

Fretec Need To Know Briefing Session Graphic

Online information event

NIS2 is coming. Are you ready?

Ireland missed the original deadline to bring the EU’s NIS2 cybersecurity directive into Irish law and was referred to the EU Court of Justice over it in July 2026.

The National Cyber Security Bill is expected to pass before the end of Q3 2026, so this is no longer a “someday” issue. It’s now.

NIS2 doesn’t only apply to large, regulated organisations.

If you supply into one, their NIS2 obligations flow down to you as a condition of doing business with them.

For Wexford SMEs supplying larger, regulated customers, that makes this a very important issue, whether or not you’ve ever thought of yourselves as “in scope”.

Join Fretec for a free, 45-minute lunchtime briefing that will let you know exactly where things stand and what to do next.

What we’ll cover:

  • What NIS2 actually is and who it applies to, in plain English, including the “if you supply someone who’s in scope, you’re affected too” trap
  • Where Ireland’s transposition of NIS2 actually stands right now, and what that means for your timeline
  • The practical first steps every business should take now, regardless of your exact legal status
  • Live Q&A with our specialist

What you’ll walk away with:

  • A clear, jargon-free understanding of whether NIS2 applies to you or your supply chain
  • A realistic sense of the timeline, so you can be prepared
  • A short, practical checklist you can start on immediately
  • Direct access to ask a specialist your own questions

Who this is for:

SME owners and operations leads who need the business risk explained in plain terms and CTOs or IT leads who need the compliance detail. If your business supplies larger, regulated organisations, this session is especially relevant to you.
